Ugly Bastards

Went out for diner last night to the Retreat Hotel in Brunswick with nick and brent, had grilled Travellie with salad and ships all for $15.00 was ok tucker and a few beers too. On the way home we picked up some baklava and other sweet goodies. Later, after a cup of tea and a cake or two we decided to distort a few faces.

Cut Copy + Midnight Juggernauts @ Billboard

Had a pretty quiet New Years with Me (e) Tanya, Brent on (e), Nick and Kate (e). Went to Bilboard to see Cut Copy and Midnight Juggernauts had a wee dance, felt like i am an old fart as Bilboard tends to be full of teen porn stars, great to look at but not very much substance ha ha. however we did have a fun night.

Cut Copy were fun and lively and Midnight Juggernauts played some kick ass tunes.

Xmas 2006

Xmas chat
Had a petty chill-some xmas this year, remained in melbourne and had a traditional Australian xmas BBQ. Ash and Miki came over we ate drank champagne and bantered about all sorts of shit including my current hypothesis that cancer is an invaluable asset to human evolution. some of her palls popped over but they were very munted having not yet been to bed so the conversation was thin, they ten left and we retuned to the topi of pedophilia. all good topics of conversation on the alleged day of the birth of the son of god.

Weather

Being Melbourne, Australia. and having some of the most erratic weather in the world its no surprise that the weather on xmas day was pretty out there. when i woke up it was glorious sun, by 2 pm it was cloudy, by 5pm i was wearing a hat and scarf, and by 6pm we were having hail storms and it was fucking freezing.

Gifts
I bought ash and miki both Fitness Videos, a souvenir spoon and a pair of tacky ear rings, nice.. ha ha. I also bought my self a few gardening books and a board game (Balderdash) a bluffing game, good fun i must say. Roll on 2007

The Bostik Incident

Went to Bunnings ( a diy store) to get a few bits and bobs, bought all i needed which included 2 cans of Expandable Foam, its like cheese in a can that turns to concrete upon contact with air in about 10 minutes. it was a fekin hot day and the short drive home was eventless until that is i opened the back door to the car and picked up the cans of Boskit Foam. one of the cans decided to explode in my face covering me with the nasty contents, obviously this is the point your start to giggle but i can assure you i was far from giggling when i stumbled into the house head to toe in this shit. tried to remove it with soap and water which inevitably made it worse so managed after about 5 minutes searching to find an old bottle of turps which we used to scrub 80% of the shit off. the rest of which by this point had set into concrete and had to be removed by peeling off the skin, pretty tedious when yo think I’m a wee bit of a hairy monkey. Wrote a letter to bostik complaining about the incident and am currently awaiting a response, watch this space.

Glass Percussion Project

This is the debut performance of an installation based glass orchestra. An innovative labyrinth of glass instruments will produce a vibrant interplay between glass, light and percussion, exploring themes of air, wind, thunder and divine melodies.

The Glass Percussion Project is a collaborative initiative between Glass Artist Elaine Miles and musician Eugene Ughetti (Speak Percussion). Elaine Miles has handblown a large collection of glass that is resonant, harmonically complex and harmonically pure. Musician Eugene Ughetti is the Artistic Director of Speak Percussion, a progressive Melbourne-based percussive arts company.

This was very cool indeed. worh going to see if it ever returns.
